The term photomontage  a piecing together of photographic and typographic sources. Emotions and creative ideas on a canvas or paper packed with other objects, images placing different ready-made images from magazines or news papers etc to create  chaotic and explosive pieces dismembering reality .

meaning of her work: 

The complex imagery of her montage work explores her fragmented life as a woman within a male dominated art movement and pre-war and post-war society in Germany.

She explored the position of women in European society that whats changing rapidly during this period and the “New Woman” was a popular theme to which Höch responded in her art.
